We spent 1 month at the fishing cottage and couldn't be happier with the location's cleanliness, VIEW and the very friendly and accommodating staff.
Richard gave us a package deal for household goods and boat storage and rental of the cottage. He also let us store overflow equipment on the back porch.
Lisa in the office is very helpful, attentive and loves to have a good chat.
The park is remote but right on the ICW and we love it for that. Highly recommend this place and have seen the plans for expansion... it looks amazing! They also have a boat house!
Their boat launch is well maintained and can accommodate large boats!
Very peaceful, relaxing few days. We enjoyed our stay. Lisa was very helpful and accommodating. Richard helped my husband put air in the camper tires before we left. Beautiful waterway. The little bit of nose from the Core Creek Bridge is not a deal breaker. Beats city living and sirens !
Should have been closed for construction. Note on the entry photo that if you went to the left you would end up in a ditch. On the way out a conduit pipe and rebar provided a challenging exit. Our two little dogs hated to walk on the sharp gravel road. We left four nights early and were so glad to get in at Whispering Pines. The construction effort caused the water supply to be cutoff. So told to not drink water for 3 days. No discount offered. Just too bad you chose this place. And the Wi-Fi did not work. There is a nicely installed Spectrum box but no service. And as I drove to my Pull thru site, I was told to unhook before entering to avoid clipping the magnificent landscaping.
Seems the owners have plans, they just need to warn customers how uncomfortable their stay might be.
I will start with the positives-
Level parking pad, stable 30 amp power, concrete pad with new picnic table, bright, white vinyl privacy partition between each camp site, great for boat watching (from a distance), bird watching (saw a bald eagle and several belted kingfishers), the laundry facility was spacious and clean and the ease of making reservations and the host’s accommodation to changes.
The not so positives -
The term “bath house” is misleading to RV’ers who interpret this to mean a common, public space with at least two or more toilets, generally separated by gender, and one or more shower stalls. Unless you use your RV for all your business, the combination one toilet, one shower stall in back of laundry room is inconvenient and unaccommodating. When sharing this with the host, I was asked, “what would you call it?” I didn’t have an answer as I was surprised that I was challenged to defend my description of “this is not a bathhouse.” I’ve had a chance to think and now have an answer, “it is a single-use bathroom with shower.”
Great friendly and quiet place to stay. Right on the water so tons of boat and bird sight seeing. There is plenty of space for fishing and a marina for your boat. Sites are large and maintained.
