This is definitely a great spot with great hosts. I wish there were more photos of the cabins. The Redoubt room has a toilet, however there are no walls around it. Just a toilet and the beds are all in the same room. The Augustine was better, more expensive for the view. Bunk beds, a tv with some DVD’s and a kitchen. We used the stove top and the flame to start it was a bit aggressive, like thought I’d start on fire. They could use a pull out table from the wall to make more use out of the cabin. And there were plastic trash bags on the window and a towel for a curtain. Not the best up keep.
Most welcoming place to stay ...Great people...great location.. Feels like home.. Beautiful cabins with beautiful views comfy camp spots with water and electric .. Rv hook ups both in the campground and the beachfront below.. Children and pet friendly . Showers and laundry.. indoor restroom... ice and firewood..everything you could possibly want or need .
Visiting Whiskey Point Cabins has become the highlight of the summer for my wife and I. We like to meet there with friends and family from everywhere. Between the best ocean view in the state, the killer halibut fishing just off the beach, and the amenities of the campground, it’s so fun. The owners go out of their way to help us out if they can. It’s the perfect distance from Homer and the Kenai river, without the crowds.
The campground looks like a great place but the cabin we stayed in is seriously in need of an upgrade. The wooden access is rotting , the shower was leaking and the mat was wet, the bed was the most uncomfortable I've slept in since my youth.
When we arrived, late September, on a family visit to the area, the cabin was cold and damp. Then we got locked out, as we had been given the wrong key. That can happen I suppose but when we came back at 9.10pm we couldn't get in and it took 3 attempts and 20 minutes to contact the owners until we finally got back into the cabin.
The cabin, while quaint, is very small and there is no basin in the bathroom and no kitchen table, just a coffee table, as there is no room for for one. Sloppily installed black plastic is used for black out curtains .
The shortfalls don't make up for that spectacular view, in any way.
HayLee kindly let us check out early and we moved to self contained cottages in Anchor Point. Our new cabin, that was the same price, was vastly superior in every way e.g. comfort, warmth, cleanliness, facilities, the space was 4 times the size and it was beautifully finished. It may not have the view but if its raining nor does Whiskey Point.
The price being charged is just too high for what you get at Whiskey Point.
Had a trip of a lifetime up in Alaska, and Hailey at Whiskey point made me feel right at home, had an amazing view, with nice clean and hot showers which are few and far between up in AK! Thank you so much Hailey for being such an amazing host. Can’t wait to come and see you all again!
