We're unimpressed. The bathrooms are under renovation, which is understandable, but the only working toilet on the women's side was in the middle of the renovations and pretty gross. It felt dirty, dingy, and inhospitable. The wifi didn't work, and the campsite itself wasn't defined or easy to access. Not worth the money.

Location is good, and campground has trees. However that is where nicities end. The trash bin is overflowing, the bathrooms are under renovation (?): That is drywall has been put in place, but paint is missing. The electrical outlets do not have covers and are therefore dangerous! The stall walls and doors are dirty vaneer. No paint. Shower curtains have been cut (probably to be used in several showers)so that it barely closes the shower. Shower curtain as a shower compartment door. One out of two showers had hot water. Two toilets, but only one works well. Only one sink in ladies room, no countertops, no seats, nothing to put your things on. No mirror. The shower stalls have one rusty old metal chair each.

The door does not shut properly. And the door frame is under construction.

The facilities are too small for this campground, even if all the toilets would work. When I went in last night there were 4 ladies outside lining up for their turn in shower. In the inside was about 10 kids and few more adults. And it is not that big of the space.

NEVER saw the host and the office was always closed when I was in the campground. They seem to close early.

Nice little campground around the edge of the city. If you hit the timing right (or wrong, depending on what you want) the state fair is open right across the road from the campground — literally a two minute walk. The campground is smaller than you might think when looking at the website, but that doesn’t diminish it in any way. The sites are not overly cramped together as there is a bit of space between each so you’re not staring directly in your neighbour’s windows. It was aptly described to me as “a piece of the forest in the city” which I think was fitting. Bathrooms were being renovated, but everything worked as it should have. I would definitely stay here again if I’m in Fairbanks.

Tent camped on 6/30/2023. Our site (E) was small as the larger available sites (B & D) had a lot of roots in the ground, hence no where to set up a tent comfortably. Site E is off the drive of site D, not a good spot to park if the people from D need to leave.

Staff was extremely helpful as I booked online and had to change spots a couple of time. Restrooms and showers were being remodeled, so they were functioning, but not good. Only one sink and the showers weren't clean.

Tent camped there on 7/2/2023. This time our site (L) was much bigger, plenty of room. Again staff was extremely pleasant.
