About Campground

Stan Hedwall Park is OPEN for the 2023 season starting in April.

This is Chehalis’ largest park with roughly 100 acres of wooded land and 100 acres of open meadows and fields. The Newaukum River flows through the wooded area of the park, providing good fishing and rock-hounding in a relaxing and leisurely atmosphere. An open outdoor pavilion area features a big-toy playground, volleyball court, and horseshoe pits (bring your own ball and horseshoes). Enjoy a leisurely walk on the three miles of trails, or come and stay a while . . . A 29 Space RV Park area is also available and includes electric and water hookups, picnic tables, and restrooms with showers.

A covered shelter area is used extensively by locals, as well as out-of-town groups, during spring, summer and fall. The shelter area provides tables & benches, four sinks, electrical lighting and outlets, and four wood-burning cook stoves for warming food.

Beautiful park. Cops were friendly. No fee to park. River and rv park nearby.

We stopped here on our road trip up to Seattle. Great park with shaded seating area, there was a bathroom as well. It looks like a great park for locals with multiple sports fields.

Wonderful little park.

Pictures show right after the flood while water is still high.

Multiple different areas to utilize for sports and or games, also camping facilities that are well-maintained with easy to follow directions and signage explaining overnight fees and rules. The caretakers are close by in the event that you might need help and give an extra sense of security. There is a little river area for the kids to swim in which they spent all day doing so and had the best time!

Always a great park. Today, I found an empty field to let my dog run.
