From Groton: Go 2 miles west on U.S. 302, then 6 miles northwest on Vt. 232, then .5 miles east on Boulder Beach Rd.
It's alright.. The only thing is they tell u 930 no noise and kids get told not to talk if they laughing. Water is amazing lean-to and rent sites are great.
Great state park with tons of hiking, motor and paddle boating, fishing and biking. There are some great tasks and it's very family friendly.
We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days and our Campsite location 40 and it was one of the best campsites in our experience
Pros:-
Lake nearby
Starry nights are breathtaking
Restrooms and amenities nearby
Amazing view
Groton lake beach nearby
So many hike trails
It was a beautiful place but it was all washed out from recent rains, we got out but the big rigs are having to shelter in place.
I'm going with a 4 star. My only real complaint is the sandy camp sites. Normally, when we stay, the sand is manageable. This week with all the rain, not so much. It is off grid camping, which we don't mind we do it every year. Camper batteries tend to have an issue by the end of the week, with only having 2 two hour blocks of run time on the generator. All in all not a bad camping area.
