Located 11 miles from Gold Canyon and 18 miles from Scottsdale.
From Phoenix: take I-17 south to I-10 east. I-10 east will eventually link with Hwy. 60. Take Hwy. 60 east to the Ellsworth Rd. Exit and turn left (north) on Ellsworth. You will then see Valle del Oro RV Resort on the left (west) side of Ellsworth Rd.
If you like trains or model railroading you'll be amazed by this massive garden railroad, which goes with the territory if you are an on-site resident or guest. Whether you prefer to watch, or choose to get involved with the club this is just one more activity that makes this RV (and park model) resort highly recommended.
Great place great activities but crime, theft is out of control... according to local LE its almost daily at Valle del oro. My understanding mgmt hands are tied securing the opening in the wall and their ability to secure both gates after hrs allowing locals to come in and rob residents of golf carts, bikes, etc. Yes I'm the latest... my 60lb e bike stolen 1/2 in cable lock cut. Perps either rode the bike out the gates or threw it in a truck that may have been waved in after hrs... its gotten ridiculous at vdo
We came to Vall de Oro on February to escape the cold weather in Reno NV. This park is run by Cal AM Resorts and is our 3rd time at one of their resorts.
This is an RV Resort for 55 and over folks. The place is huge as they have approximately 1600 spots. This park has RV spots as well as park models so feels more like camping in the suburbs.
The resort is well maintained and there are lots of things to do. They have large pool and spa, pickle ball and tennis courts, a baseball field, ball room, and many hobby and craft rooms. They bring in entertainment and have live music most nights by the pool. There are also horseshoe pits and Bocci ball courts. They hold RC car races and have a huge model train track that they run. If you are bored here it is your fault.
The RV spots are quite large but they do not provide picnic tables or fire rings. Every site has full hookups with 50 amp service but be aware the hookups are at the very back of the spot. They do provide wifi and it is fairly good throughput the park but we were in spot 1773 and our wifi was very spotty at times.
If you stay here for a month or more they charge you separately for trash, sewer and electricity. They also do not take credit cards so be prepared to pay for things with cash or check.
One other thing to know is this park located right next to the 60 and 202 interchange so there is always freeway noise. You also get noise from Ellsworth and Southern that run alongside the park. Basically the park us surrounded by busy roads.
The park is dog friendly and they have 7 dog parks. They do ban dogs from around the clubhouse areas and 2 streets back from same so be aware of this.
We plan to stay here again.
It’s a fantastic trailer park with all the amenities a snow bird can wish for. Great social activities as well. We visited our friends and they love it there.
A very nice resort that has almost everything to keep you young and social. So much to do here! Live bands every night that plays from 3-7 on the patio by the pools, Tiki bar, 🌵 Cactus grill and sooo much more
