Anderson Meadow Campground is nestled above Anderson Meadow Reservoir in the Fishlake National Forest. The area boasts spectacular high mountain scenery and excellent fishing.
Fishing for brook and rainbow trout in the eight-acre Anderson Meadow Reservoir is popular from either the shoreline or small non-motorized boat. Trailheads to the Piute ATV trail are close by.
Anderson Meadow Campground has eight single family campsites and two multiple family campsites. Sites are back-in only and will accommodate 24 to 40 feet long trailers. All units have prep tables, campfire rings and picnic tables. Drinking water is available throughout the campground. There are two vault toilets in the campground. Camping limit is 14 days.
No hook-ups or dump station are available. The nearest dump station is located in Beaver, Utah.
The campground is surrounded by a mix of aspen and conifers. The trees provide a range of shade depending on campsite locations with a majority of the sites well-shaded.
The Fishlake National Forest offers spectacular vistas and opportunities to view wildlife in their natural habitat. Elk, deer, black bear, moose, cougar and mountain goats are some of the large animals that call the forest home.
The Piute ATV Trail is nearby; however there is no access directly from the campground. Be prepared to trailer ATVs to the nearby trailheads for access.
Travel east of Beaver approximately 10 miles on SR 153, turn right on to Forest Road 137 for about 8 miles.
Beautiful small lake to fish and kayak. Pack a lunch and spend the day in the water, fishing, or hiking around. Well worth it.
Beautiful spot overlooking the lake. No cell service. Fish jump like crazy in the evenings. Loved it!
The campground is a piece of paradise. Fish jump out of a lake surrounded by a pine-covered cliff and a green meadow. The stars are vibrant on clear nights. Elk and deer walk across the mountain roads. Wildflowers bloom. We camped in late July, and the high temperature was 81, and low temperature was in the 40s, so take warm clothes for overnight.
The road up the mountain is washboard dirt and a 30 minute climb from either Junction or Beaver. The road winds close to the mountain with steep and sharp curves and no guardrails. Larger vehicles may have trouble.
Surrounding area is 5 star, campground would be also had the hosts been on site and available before 8pm each day. There was no toilet paper in the vault toilet near our site for 2 days. A lot of the trees have been cut down in this campground so there is a lot of sun exposure. There was no firewood for purchase on site, so we split our own from all of the downed trees and used the mulch from all of the chipper/shredder debris in the campground. A lot of brush piled up throughout waiting to be lit. I was really hopeful from previous reviews and pictures because the place looked like it had A LOT of shade. But that is not the case now. We reserved camp site 8 based off of a review on here that had a pic of the trees shading the site, now those trees are gone. See pics. Hoping the growth takes back off because this is a great location.
