The campground is a piece of paradise. Fish jump out of a lake surrounded by a pine-covered cliff and a green meadow. The stars are vibrant on clear nights. Elk and deer walk across the mountain roads. Wildflowers bloom. We camped in late July, and the high temperature was 81, and low temperature was in the 40s, so take warm clothes for overnight.
The road up the mountain is washboard dirt and a 30 minute climb from either Junction or Beaver. The road winds close to the mountain with steep and sharp curves and no guardrails. Larger vehicles may have trouble.
