This was our first time here & enjoyed it, for the most part. Very nice beach areas, pretty views, decent awning with picnic tables & not crowded. We set up shop near a picnic table but did not use the table, just parked the truck under the tree to keep it out of the sun. We were there for about an hour then a lady came flying down the hill in her golf cart & started yelling at us about not paying for this site (it was empty & how are we supposed to know?) We apologized & she said it's $10 or move to a different location. We stated not using the picnic table or the grill & she said we'll move your truck then. We moved our truck maybe 25 ft & she left. We will come back in hopes not to encounter the same rudeness. (PSA: Don't park near to a picnic table & you won't have to pay.)
Wise County Park Campground is very clean & organized. Stayed here one night while traveling, first time here. A little off the beaten path but well worth it. $30/ night for full hookups w/50 amp service. Park host was very accommodating over the phone to change our reservation to a site with electricity and very friendly when we arrived. RV sites with full hookups are long & spacious, as far as I can see they all are back ins, no pull throughs. There are other loops with electric & water only for $25/night and also sites for totally dry camping for $10/night. Boat ramps, rest rooms, fenced playgrounds & dump station available, pet friendly and also there are picnic tables & pavilions that can be rented. The water level of the lake is way down and in some places the shore line has receded 100 ft or more. Nice place!
It's nice. I just did a day visit. I grabbed a map and marked locations I wouldnt mind camping at. Water was really low at this time
Peaceful place with beach and swimming. Great for camping. Restrooms available as well. No park fees.
Had a great time camping here yesterday. Lake levels are down dramatically from the images on google satellite view. Campground and beach area was really clean. Love the yard games. Rock quarry next door was unexpectedly noisy.
