Just a park is great! Most roads are newly paved, however, a lot of the RV spots are uneven so make sure you bring plenty of leveling blocks! Other than that very clean and nice employees.
Hidden gem outside of Dallas. Lovely park for my annual 1st Day Hike. Staff were friendly, trails are marked very well and park is clean. Beautiful, scenic views! Leashed dog friendly on trails, but not allowed on swim beach. New restroom building was under construction but there were other facilities to use nearby.
We LOVE our time at Eisenhower State Park!! The staff and facilities are top notch for camping, attention is given to improvements, and you can do as much or as little as you want. It's a great escape from suburbia, yet not so far from conveniences when needed. 🥰🏕👍
My most visited state park. Also very beautiful. We also did our flesh camping in this park at elm point. That's the best spots. You'll see the best view from this point. This park is big enough with lots of trails and views. For day use or camping it's perfect. And not so far from Dallas.
We went on a day pass. Based on the pictures, I was expecting something much different than what we found. Pretty disappointed. It looks like its a great park for camping, but we didn't find much accessibility. My mother is elderly and limited in her mobility. Unfortunately, there's wasn't anything for her to do and enjoy. We drove around but you couldn't see much besides camp sites. She couldn't get down to the fishing pier or swimming area. Even I had some difficulty with the mud and hike back up from the one pier. We stopped at the yacht club for her to at least see the lake. The trip was basically a bust for us. It was quite a drive to just see empty camping sites. I will say that the bathrooms were some of the cleanest I've seen at state parks. Its clear staff takes care of the park's facilities and roads.
