Was really surprised... clean .. friendly staff... resident space and weekend getaways also... put put golf and kids playground ... small fishing ponds also... extremely pet friendly dly
Not a good place at all, no longer allowing families to live there, nor first time campers, won't let people with families help as a camp worker. Workers are bitterly rude. They charge now extra for golf carts, and charge extra if you have kids. They try and compare themselves to southern states that have excellent views and reviews. Which that place has neither. Was there a yr and was very miserable. To many chiefs and not enough indians. Everybody plays boss and nobody is on the same page. Was a great place ten yrs ago. Now it's not worth going to, and the ponds constantly dry up.
My wife and I enjoyed a week at Spring Lake. Our standard cabin was on the small side, but adequate for us. We chilled all our own food in the two burners. There was no oven, only a microwave. The best part of staying was the grounds. We enjoyed walks around the many ponds. There were both herons and egrets when we were there. We played mini golf in the evenings when it was cooler and spent some of each afternoon in the pool. The grounds are close enough to Hutchison and Newton that picking up groceries was not hard at all.
We stayed at the campground in our camper for our granddaughter's birthday. Her and her family rented one of the new cabins. I was extremely impressed with all the campground had to offer. They have a nice big pool, putt putt, a store, on sight laundry showers and much much more. They also have a weekend menu. We ordered a breakfast which consisted of hash browns, eggs, bacon and a biscuit for around $5. Very reasonable. They brought our piping hot breakfast right to the campsite! Oh and also they had an ice cream social on Saturday night. I am considering having my own birthday weekend there! The staff is very friendly as well. Thank you for a super fun weekend!
We stayed in one of the Hobo cabins in June 2023. Easy reservations and cheap enough for the frugal, and they said no fragrance. Delightful geese everywhere! However, there IS fragrance in the cabins. (They say they have to cover up the smell of fish) They did their very best and gave us new linens and removed the curtains. But if you need to avoid fragrance, bring your own tent or RV.
