South side of Hwy 36, behind new firehouse
Stayed here back in 2018, middle of the night showed up with three friends. Quiet, nice grass, easy and beautiful morning sunrise. Finally took a shower on a 4 day road trip(stinky). Thankfully showers were free not super maintained but it does the job. Stumbled across this thankfully after traveling all night to a closed down campsite, while everyone was just trying to catch some Z’s!
Avoid this place like the plague...Stayed there in Sept.2023
The goat head burrs were everywhere, pets can't walk in the grass anywhere, they get in your shoes and camper. Don't let your children run in the area you'll regret it. There are not doors in the restrooms on the stalls or showers. The main door has no lock on either the men's or women's. There is no way to secure your love ones in the restrooms. Garbage cans haven't been emptied since who knows when and they charge you for all this. It was late in the day and no other place around.
So pay your money and take a chance. For me I'll find a Walmart next time and stay in their parking lot...
Stayed here in September 2023. Stayed here 1 night arriving right before sundown. We didn't see anywhere to leave money or that the sites were pay to stay. All sites had electric and water, there was a dump station available as well. When you travel across the country it's nice to find areas that have amenities such as power and water so I won't be to harsh. I will give it 5 stars for this alone and commend the community of St. Francis for offering this to travelers in their community. When we arrived we had enough time to grab the lawn chairs and enjoy watching the sunset. The park was busy with just vehicle traffic. It wasn't well kept and had trash coming out of the cans. The restrooms weren't inviting but we had or own being in an RV. I felt safe there with my family and plan on using the site in the near future for another trip out West.
Kind of a scary bathroom. No curtains. Everything worked alright and we stayed one night with electric RV hookup and got some snow. A few folks stopped throughout the night. Hardly a rest stop but thankful for it being there
A wonderful place to spend the night. I slept in my Subaru, so I was not charged anything. There's a Mexican restaurant within walking 🚶♂️ distance. It was quiet, except for the cheerful sound of a rooster 🐓 the next morning 🌄.
