Nice looking campground. It would have been great if there were maps to take at the self pay, since the offices are closed on the weekend. Showers are nice and clean; Could use more benches to put your items on and warmer water in the shower would have been awesome.
The people were friendly and the town had the "Dalton Gang Hideaway" which was a treat.
Beautiful and spacious, clean and tranquil.
Well managed, but more expensive than we are used to. On top of the $25 nightly fee, they want and additional $5 per night for your vehicle. I’m our case, a class C motorhome. Would have stayed longer if it weren’t for the high fees.
We can stay at corp-engineers parks for $10, with water/electric.
Tina, a new employee, was so wonderful and patient as we worked out how the Kansas State parks system works. It’s unfortunate they don’t have any funding from the state to keep prices lower. This would be a great campground to host in! Maybe we will try that someday! I know they are seeking one.
Very nice place to camp by the water. Appreciate law enforcement patrol keeping the park safe for all. Would have liked to see park rangers patrol in the evening to deter people from gathering branches and ripping bark off the trees for fires.
Great lake to camp and friendly staff. Swimming is nice to beat the heat and fun things to keep kids occupied. Usually guests are good about cleaning up but the staff is quick to get the campsites clean if anyone leaves a huge mess. Alex and Liz are great park rangers and very helpful as well.
