Great Lake / state park for camping and fishing. Water was shut off on October 17th, 2022 but the Marina campsites have water and electricity hookups all year round.
Your odds of fishing are higher if you’re on a boat but bank fishing is doable as well if you’re using surf rods and waders.
There’s a good variety of species from:
Wipers, white bass, catfish, walleye, large mouth bass, crappie, etc.
The campsites usually get reserved rather quickly, so if you see an open date, book it!
Cabins are available for reservations too.
There are two stores / bait shops at the park: one at the marina (O Brien’s) and at the west entrance of the park.
Love camping here. Very quiet and relaxing. Restroom is very clean and the shower was nice and warm.
For Kansas, it is a great state park. For the state parks I have been to it's a decent state park! The boat dock by the Marina is nice and easy to access. The bathrooms well ladies sorry they are gross. The campgrounds here are nice and plentiful but still spacious. Overall not a bad park.
Camped here! Very nice and clean campsite close to the water. With Electric and Water. Had a great view of the lake. I gave it a 4 because there were no pads poured. So you were just parking on the ground so not totally leveled. Nice place and I would stay here again! I believe it was just $13 for the night!
