From Salina, KS: Take HWY 140 19 miles west to HWY 141. Travel 12 miles south on 141, then 1/2 mile west on paved road; look for signs to the park.
Location is relatively far from town. This could be good for you. A lot of campsites were still closed due to the recent flooding. Boat ramp nearby for boating and fishing. Very windy every day we were here, but that did help temper the heat.
Great place for my boys to have fun on their wheelers. Bunny trails are perfect for learning.
Great park! Freshly mowed for the holiday weekend. Even though the lake was too high for much play in the water, we had a great time. Walked most of the Loder point trail, which put us over four miles (our best guess) of hiking. Very nice.
This is a great small campground with a beautiful view of the lake and has a lot of shade trees. Sites are spacious with only water and electric available. Our site was not paved and not level. Park is well maintained and is great for a night or two. We saw a beautiful sunset and some deer and turkey. The camp host and Park Rangers are very friendly and helpful.
It is not far from Ellsworth where we enjoyed a delicious dinner at Sonic! We had a good stay and would recommend.
This is a really wonderful campground. Clean, new shower houses, well maintained green spaces, lots of space between most campsites. Beautiful scenery and the hiking trails are great, too. Verizon signal good, and 17 over the air TV stations. Not all sites have utilities but there are many 50 amp W/E sites.
