My wife and I camped here early October '23. I had made a reservation $30 in advance. Two days before arrival I received a phone call from the park manager telling me that the commissioners had decided to summarily raise the camping fee to $60, effective immediately and without regard to prior commitments. I can't presume to know what might have inspired the local gov't to do this, but I know that from our end we felt like we were handled callously and without grace. Our $60 campsite had no electricity (outlets didn't work). That got sorted out by the pleasant employees, nevertheless, not what you expect for $60/night for camping in a tent.

The park is very nice. Have been coming every year since 2017.

However this is my last stay.

Made reservations in September for mid October. They told me it would be $30 per day. When I arrived October 15th, SURPRISE, I was told the rate is now $50 per day as of October 1st.

The park should have honored the rate given when the reservations were made in good faith rather than spring it on the camper once you get there.

This park excepts only cash. Fortunately I had enough cash to cover it.

Great small campground, well kept and quiet on our site (18); friendly and very helpful staff. It has a wonderful variety of shade trees with many of the sites having built in porches. The fishing areas are nice but would have loved longer hours open (understandable however with limited staff). The property joins the RTJ golf course and, of course, that is never a bad neighbor!

We will return!

I visited late Sept on a week day. Camp ground was near empty and we got the closest tent site to the lakeshore. About a hundred yards downhill. Very quiet, clean. No luck with fishing but it’s probably because of a bad set up. Nevertheless, I had a great time relaxing. I think I paid like $15 or so. Easy-to-collect fire wood was everywhere. Ten minutes away from Walmart for any supplies. Attendant was a nice gentleman who was readily accessible with a phone call. I will visit again soon.
