The park is along PA 144, 18 miles south of Galeton and 26 miles north of Renovo.
Terrific campground and hiking trails. Plan well as firewood sales were unavailable during my summer non weekend stay. But a short drive into Cross Fork gets you to a nice General store. Had a blast at the nice swimming area with my kids. A+ on the bathrooms at the campground, very clean. Overall a great visit with the family.
Stayed here a year ago and had a pleasant experience, so we came back. Again, great experience. Clean, updated bathrooms. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Had programs that both kids and adults can enjoy. Spacious campsites, and we're tent camping!! We'll be back again 😊
This is one of the best state parks in PA. The bathrooms/showers/dishwashing station are always clean and well maintained. All the Staff I have talked to were friendly and helpful. This park has a children (12 and under) and disabled persons only fishing area that is stacked with trout. The opportunity to wade in and fish right from the campground makes it ideal for fisherman. There is very little light pollution and a short walk from the campground can get you to a nice dark spot for stargazing. Ole Bull is not far from Cherry Springs SP, but has way less traffic.
Great state park for camping. The sites are a nice size and the bath house is nice and clean. It is also very dark and a great place for stargazing.
You are out in the middle of the PA Wilds and cell service is nonexistent. If you need to get service you will need to drive at least 15 minutes to a higher point.
