I like that Chapman has many different facilities as it is about an hour drive away from the next state park. There is swimming here at Chapman Lake and picnic tables and five pavilions.

There's a boat rental by the beach and a boat launch on the other side of the lake. Electric motors only on boats.

There are two ADA accessible fishing piers (see photo).

There are 81 campsites and a few cabins and yurts, as well as organized group camping sites.

12 miles of hiking trails mostly in the park and biking on paved roads.

The park also has an environmental learning center.

Winter activities include snowmobiling, sledding, tobogganing, cross country skiing, ice skating and ice fishing. There's a warming hut and some bathrooms are heated.

Hunting is allowed in season.

Small park, but well maintained. Camped for 2 nights in one of the cabins - power but no water, a bit of a hike to the shower house (modern & clean), but not bad if you don't have to get there fast. The Nature Trail around the campground was lovely - mostly flat and well maintained in the sections near the lake, a little less groomed on the hill section (one section was all mud, but it had been raining recently), well marked with yellow blazes. The beach is nice, but since there were thunderstorms while we were there, we didn't get to swim. It's definitely on my list of parks to camp at again in the future!

Went sled riding on their hill. I see restroom facilities were installed near the sledding hill which is very nice. I always remember a light being on at night, I don't know if you have to pay for it now but we used my truck lights and had a great time.

Attended a Backcountry Hunters & Anglers event in July, 2023 in Conneaut, Ohio that included primitive camping. Needed to find a dump station on the way home, so we called to confirm Chapman State Park had a dump station available. The charge for a PA resident to use the dump station is $10. (Dump station is included if you stay at the campground, but we were not.) The rangers were leaving, so I confirmed I could pay the $10 cash utilizing an Honor System Envelope and putting it in the drop box at the Ranger Station.

Checked out the Campground while there as it is located within Allegheny National Forest. Two loops, each half pet friendly with pet stations. Some walk-in tent sites. Newer bathrooms. Trails surrounded the campground. Downside: Most sites were on the smaller side that might not fit our 24' trailer with our F150 extended cab with 8' bed truck.

Walked part of a trail with access to the lake. Many kayaks on the water. Day Use area across the way. Didn't get a chance to check out the dam or pavilions.
