From town: Go 5 mi W on Hwy 488, then 2 mi W on paved Wheeler Peak Scenic Drive.
Great campground! Each campsite is very private and surrounded by trees and have streams/rivers running through them. Enjoyed the stay very much! Quiet and great base camp location to explore Great Basin NP.
Beautiful park; however, the site driveways at Upper Lehman Campground are small and very uneven - not suitable for RVs/trailers. Also, not sure what's going on with the National Forests/Parks lately, but they need to do something about sites being reserved and unoccupied.
Upper Lehman Creek Campground was quiet, clean and a wonderful place to camp. Their vault campground toilets were some of the cleanest I’ve ever used while camping! That’s a plus!! It is close to fishing, hiking, the visitor center and Lehman Caves tour. The campsites all seemed spacious from my walks throughout the campground. I will definitely come back!
Keep in mind this is a remote campground with no electric, water, nor sewer. For 24' rigs or less. We asked the ranger about our 27' Airstream and he sent us here, saying take a look and see if we can find a level enough site. It's tight, but there are a few sites that work well. The location is great, all paved, and close to the 10,000 foot Wheeler Peak scenic road summit. Nice little Lehman Creek running beside our site!
