We had plenty of room. Everyone around us was friendly. Kids had an awesome time. Lots of space to water-ski & ride our jetskis. Rangers were friendly & took the time to get us fermiliar with the area n rules. Will be heading back. $25 for 5 days or $40 for the year. Clean bathroom, boat launch & camping available. Cabins and boats for rent, lots of sandy beaches.
It is a very nice spot. We were there on Father's Day. Cottonwood Cove was PACKED with families sitting next to each other. This place did have a lot of visitors but it allowed enough space in between to feel comfortable. Water was very clean. However, bathrooms were a mess. It is understandable since it is a remote area and it cannot be serviced constantly. It is 6 miles of dirt, bumpy road. However, you don't need a 4x4 vehicle to get there. My son's little Honda did well the whole way.
Visited yesterday, it was so overcrowded with people that there wasn't even room to walk between the tents and canopies to navigate the beach. Different loud music from every direction. Jet skis were weaving in between swimmers on the beach and making huge wakes in the no wake zone. I even saw two different groups chopping down tamarisk trees for firewood for their grills.
This is such an incredible beach, but it is absolutely ruined by careless, destructive, visitors.
GREAT PLACE FOR THE FAMILY, YOU FISH, YOU CAN CAMPING FOR 14 DAYS, JUST IN WEEKEN SPECIALLY IN SPRING AND SUMMER IS SO CROWDED.
