This place has really dirty murky lake water. Would not recommend it. Unless you go away from the general area. Going over hills and possibly coming into contacts with snakes, then you will probably have a good clean area to swim in.
I've been coming to six mile cove for 25 years and I am heartbroken by the disrespect shown by visitors, trash everywhere, people just don't feel like picking up their trash and carrying it 15 feet to the trash can so they leave it just laying in piles when they leave...so sad. 💔💔💔 It's a fairly recent trend, leaving your trash behind, why mess the place up it's such a beautiful place
Absolutely epic camp spot in the off season. Beautiful swimming beach. Easily accessible, and relatively clean with access to vault toilets and a trash dumpster. Supposedly gets pretty rowdy at times, but it was quiet and peaceful when I visited in late December.
Not the best place during the weekend. There is trash all over because of the high winds that blow everything away. It's not well maintained and it's best to go in a truck. Be aware of the forecast. You can camp, but it's not a perfect getaway if you think you have the best spot for your family. You will be bombarded by people that are looking for a spot in the middle of your campsite just for the day. It is nice at night since most people leave before sunset.
