Camping at Lake Maloney SRA is all first-come, first-served and campers register their nightly camping fees in a raised, locked box called an Iron Ranger. Self-service envelopes are provided at each Iron Ranger station. Check or cash only. Iron Rangers are generally located near the park entrance or in the campground area. On-site camping informational signs are provided to help guide campers with the self-registration process.
You need a park permit in order to enter the campground
The park was nice and the surroundings were fairly pretty, but the restrooms and showers were not nice at all. The coin operated showers took multiple tries in multiple stalls to turn on, the water had a smell, and there was an ungodly amount of flies, moths, and other dead and live bugs in the stalls. You shouldn't expect five star bathrooms at a campsite, but these were pretty bad. The campsite itself was nice and I have no complaints there, but maybe shower elsewhere.
Attended Carp-O-Rama, an annual event put on by the Game and Parks. The kids had a blast catching fish!
Camp host here does not care about helping campers. Literally across the street from the host a camper has been running its generator and playing music all night for 3 nights. When we asked the host if they could do anything about this he said that generators were allowed in the campground and he doesn't do any of that.
I looked it up, quiet hours are from 10 pm to 6 am and generators are definitely not allowed to run. Not to mention the loud music! We couldn't hear ourselves talk while outside and we definitely can't sleep! Horrible management. We love this campsite, but this is unacceptable!
