About Campground

Mountain Stream RV Park is at about 1800′ elevation in the middle of the Pisgah National Forest, nestled in a narrow valley surrounded by mountains on all sides. Beautiful Buck Creek flows through this valley and along two sides of the campground. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only about 3 miles away, but it’s 5 miles by road.

We are surrounded by gorgeous mountain scenery. You can take in many of the interesting attractions that are only a short drive away or you can just relax by the stream and listen to the cold clear water flowing over the rocky stream bed. And speaking of the stream, there’s trout in that thar’ water. All of our sites have full hook-ups – power (30 & 50 amp), water, sewer and cable TV.

Directions

From jct I-40 (exit 86) & Hwy 226: Go 5 3/4 mi N on Hwy 226/US 221 by pass, then 1-3/4 mi W on US 70, then 7 mi N on Hwy 80.

Could easily give this campground a 4or 5 star but had a couple negatives.

Pros- beautiful setting, level well maintained campsite, nice clean bath house, full hookups, close to Asheville, Blue Ridge Parkway, sites right on the mountain stream.

Negatives - road up is a bit hairy fir our 40’ toy hauler but drivable, sites are rather close together such that we had little to no privacy from neighbors, had very little shade on our site due to a dead tree (not much you can do about that), had some confusion on arrival of our site number and office staff was rather abrupt as we tried to understand the issues

What a great little campground, would suggest unhooking tow if over 36'. The toad is a pucker factor of zero, but got a 40' bus with 20' trailer up here. I did need a cool down period and stiff drink, but once here the staff has been amazing along with the frllow campers. Would definitly come back

We had a great stay at this cozy campground. The sites were comfortable, the facilities clean, and the surroundings peaceful. It's a quiet little spot perfect for a relaxing getaway. Can't wait to come back! Highly recommend.

Great place just a few miles from the BR Pkwy. Set down inside a narrow valley with heavily wooded steep mountains either side and a beautiful stream running length of the park. Most of 40+ sites on the stream. The three Yurts are 5-star. Staff is wonderful & Owners are here everyday. Highly recommend.

I camped here in my RV. It was very nice. They have all sorts of things to make your stay a great one. Items like the internet and basic cable at every site, a great big pavilion with a TV, fireplace, grills, picnic tables, and outdoor heaters. In the camp store they have all sorts of balls to play with, like footballs, soccer balls, base balls etc. I saw lots of DVDs too.

In the pavilion, we watched a college football game by a beautiful fire. There's a dog park and a beautiful stream stocked with fish for your fishing experience.

The staff and visitors were all friendly, everyone said hello. They have large beautiful yurts to rent too. The location is close to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

I will visit again!
