Beautiful course with a challenging Joel Goldstrand track and picturesque setting. Manicured very well. It’s as good as it gets for a northern course that ensures tough winters. The tee boxes were nicely level with short healthy grass. The fairways are like a tight weave carpet. Very nice. The greens are exceptional. They were fast and true without being impossible. They held a quality shot like they should. The ball rolls true without being thrown off by inconsistencies. The carts are electric with touch screen gps maps that have all the info you need. Also abnormally bolstered and cushioned seats which is a nice touch. Awesome all around experience and a good value. I think being just outside the Brainerd lakes golden zone helps with the value. Twilight on a Sunday was a very reasonable $64 with a cart. Titleist practice balls which was nice along with an excellent practice area. Beautiful clubhouse and service. The only part that failed expectations was the snack at the turn. They were out of hotdogs and substituted bratwurst that were room temp and mushy 😬. Not good at all. But that didn’t affect the joy of the day at all. We’ll be back for sure. Awesome course worth every cent and every minute of extra travel time to get there.
Totally different review here, but… weddings at MNGC are so fun! I am an event planner and I had the honor of working with Reid and his staff for a wedding last summer. Everything was amazing! The staff is so accommodating with client requests, rental deliveries and last minute needs, and they’re professional and fun to work with!

I'll start by saying I've known about this course my whole life and set my expectations, but my mind was blown when I played less than $50 to play, peak of season. My expectations were totally met here, from top of the line GPS carts, beautiful practice facility, and large, updated clubhouse. The course was in very good shape, white bunkers well maintained, and greens played very well. Thay have a short executive 9 that plays inside of the championship course. The championship course has a very open, resort course feel, but with woods and marsh everywhere and a few difficult carrie's from the back tees. Splitting fairways and mild elevation change throughout with not a terrible amount of slope. The few homes you come across on the course are stunning overlooking some tee boxes and greens. You feel so at peace playing here deep in the central Minnesota wilderness. Loved it, and for a price like that how could I not come back.
Course is in excellent shape. Challenging with quick greens. Had lunch in the clubhouse twice, and both times, food was solid. I had the club sandwich and the chicken sandwich.
