From Highway 33, go west on Cloquet Avenue, turn right (north) on Broadway and continue north
A wonderful, well maintained municipal Campground.
First this is a quiet park located on an island in the St Louis River with a boat dock right there. The hosts are great, friendly and helpful. Larry and Karen and Barbara and George have been hosting here for many years so they are also a great source for local information. The city is very quaint place. There have very nice parks and rec facilities. Also the location of Frank Lloyd Wrights only gas station. Getting to Duluth is quick from here as I35 is just a couple of miles away. Yes, we loved our 10 days there.
I live going here and biking on the trails, so much fun and a lot of it is paved to. For any longboarders, skate boarders, bikers or anyone who wants to just walk, this is a great place to go. It is also a great place to go four wheeling or just around on your dirt bike. The trails are not to complicated but are a ton of fun. Everyone here is super friendly and it is an amazing place to go hang out!
This campground is well maintained. The caretakers are very gracious. We were welcomed with our two small dogs. The tent site we had was just perfect for our needs. We are planning to go there again this year. Due to my health issues 😒, we have not been able to go camping for the last two years. Maybe we can get some outdoor living time 😉😁 yet this year. Still want to return to the campground. It's really nice there because there are a limited number of spaces. Plus the campground is on an island in the middle of the river that goes through Cloquet.
Nice trails and decent camping accommodations. A bit close to the freeway and the rest of the town to feel like you're camping in nature, but a good spot for a relatively short and relaxing stay.
A beautiful walk along the path, leads to this bridge and into a paved trail area. Very enjoyable. Easy terrain for all fitness levels.
