Located off US-23, 2.5 miles southeast of East Tawas on Tawas Beach Road. It is just over an hour drive from the Tri-Cities and only 3 hours from Detroit area.
Great park to venture to. Plenty of amazing views. Hope to get a chance to explore it further in the future. Photos from 10/23
Star gazing is a must here. This was a beautiful spot. Had no complaints. Staff was very kind and helpful. The stars were in the millions and so clear. The spots are a good size and everything is pretty convenient. If the office is closed and you need wood directly outside the park, right down the street before the office is a house where a old couple sells bundles. We just walked up, they were very nice and they saved us. The fire was needed to help keep away the bugs. Electric boxes sit between the camp sites so be sure to have at least a 20 ft extension cord. The beach is beautiful here and stores are only a 10 min drive away. Don't forget your candles & lights, when night falls it's Completely DARK here.
The lighthouse has been meticulously restored. Highly recommend going there if you like historical structures.
Always a favorite. We love that the cabins are open year round.
Park is well maintained and very scenic. Has a lighthouse, beach, playground, campground, and hiking trails.
Stayed in the Tawas Bay cabin. Has microwave, large fridge, pull out sofa, 2 bedrooms one with double bed, and one with a bunk. Bathrooms are a short walk. No running water but great views.
