About Campground

Camping near Algonac State Park? Be prepared for some great outdoor fun and some crowds in this popular destination near the Canadian border.

With two modern campgrounds right off of the St. Clair River, Algonac campers can enjoy water access, hiking and biking trails, and even an archery range on site. These field-style sites can feel a little exposed, but with so much to get into in Algonac State Park, many campers find the experience more than worth it.

Visitors are welcome to Algonac year-round, which allows them to experience everything from sport fishing in Lake St. Clair to snowmobiling across Michigan’s thumb. Pick your favorite site from the nearly 300 options in Algonac State Park and take advantage of the northern wilderness.

Nice park and friendly staff! This is a nice quiet campground and if you’re able to get a site on the river, you’re going to get a great view. If you are a boat nerd, this is definitely the place to be. Right now sites are just electricity, but I hear water and sewer are coming soon. The mosquitoes get bad at night, but that’s no fault of the park. My only complaint would be that the sewer area could be cleaned up and repaired a bit.

We Love Algonac State Park. We love freighter watching. Really hoping that the roads will be paved with the upcoming planned construction.

We use the archery range. My husband uses the pistol range. We take the path into town. Love having things to do while we camp.

It's good park but not for swimming .I don't recommend the family that has kids to go there. No activities for kids, only a nice view. It's not bad to relax or camp. Also, people can fish

Their drone signage is illegal and violates PA 436 of 2016. The parks have absolutely no jurisdiction of drone usage and they’ve been sued numerous times and lost every suit.

Perfect state park campground other than the crumbling roads, which I assume will be repaired within a couple of years 🤷‍♂️

Surrounded by quiet, quaint little towns with a boardwalk in Algonac, a beautiful beach in Marine city and ma&pa restaurants along the entire river.
