Surprising quiet! Everyone typically goes to bed around 11-midnight. Bathrooms are nice and clean. Fogger/ mosquito repellent is a must have! Very dog friendly, lots of people bring their dogs. Best part is the lake is only a stones throw away from any campsite.
First time camping in Michigan and it didn't disappoint! Our sites (2&3) were right on the water. Very big sites for tents, plenty of room!
Pleasantly surprised at how great this spot was for how crowded it appeared to be before booking. It’s very family-oriented, and my wife and I prefer secluded/ private campsites, but in a pinch this was really perfect.
We were on the north side of the campground on the lake, which offered a cool little path right down to the water for fishing or enjoying the sunset.
Taking one star off because off how crowded things were. Again, normally not an issue, but there were a number of dogs off leash, kids biking around and around on the road path, and louder groups.
Recommended spot for large crews and big families or if needed in a pinch on your travels.
Have stayed there twice now for over a week each time, and only have great things to say! Staff are wonderful, bathrooms are clean, sites are large and well maintained (from a tent-er's point of view), and the park and views are just fantastic. Centrally located for many of the western UP and northern Wisconsin attractions.
