Very beautiful spot off the beaten path, rough ride in and out. October the roads are dry and wasn't a challenge, just bumpy. We stayed one night and packed out all our trash, wish it was easier to find spots like these! Take care of this place!
This was Mount Hermon dispersed camping in Pike National Forest. Plenty on sites available on a first come first serve basis. We camped on a Tuesday night and we saw maybe two other families but our site felt very private and safe. The views were insane especially during the sunset! The road getting to our spot declined the further we went but overall just potholes.
Stayed here for a week, super close to woodland park for supplies which was a plus. No facilities, just fire rings and incredible views. There's HUGE piles of cut wood across the dirt road so no need to load down with firewood, just bring an ax.
PS: The dogs loved it!
We camped here for a couple days over Memorial Day weekend. Although it was a bit crowded, the view was worth it. Easily accessible and plenty of great places to throw a tent up. There’s a trailhead right down the road. We enjoyed our stay.
We stayed here for 5 days in tents and it was a blast. People before us had left some cans (boo!) but nothing to serious. The views from every spot were incredible but ours had an amazing view of pikes peak, highly recommend! The people staying around us were also friendly and not obnoxious! The roads in are a bumpy so go slow but the views along the drive are worth it.
