Always have a good time here. Been coming up here for 10+ years. Last couple of years has had a increase in people drinking, being loud and driving to fast in park. Some of these people moved from other states and have no respect for other people and our beautiful state camping grounds. Still love coming here. Will always come back.

It is a great campground if you are a hiker. There are numerous trails starting right from the campground and many others close by. The south fork of the Poudre is also just up the road for those who like to fish. It's six and a half miles up a well maintained dirt road and in my opinion, worth the trip. ------ 4/6/2021---- Approximately one month ago I witnessed something that completely broke my heart, this campground, this peace of beauty, and most of "Jack's Gulch" itself were completely destroyed by the Cameron Peak fire. For all those who enjoyed "Jack's" over the years I weep with you, this was a very special place and will be very hard to replace.

We visited in October mid week for two nights. The first night we were the only ones in the campground. Three others arrived for the second night, but the campground is big enough that we didn't hear them.

The sites are very close together and on a busy weekend the campground would definitely be too crowded for my taste. The area is beautiful and I will definitely return, just during shoulder seasons when it's not busy.

This has always been a fantastic little campground. Clean spaces, lots of trees, and a nice way to enjoy the great outdoors without 100% roughing it. Unfortunately, it was part of the last fire that swept through the Pingree Park area. It is now closed because of the severe burning of all the trees, etc. Very sad 😢
