Please skip this place. We were looking for a relaxing place" by the river"

What we got?:

A. Literal packet of rules and regulations.

I was so discouraged to enjoy anything after reading it. I'm posting the pics below..

They do not have this on the website.

Pecan Park does not want you to have guests.

You will be charged if you have ANY visitors. $5 for the day $7 if they spend the night.

You have to check them in with the office personally! No exceptions

Because of this we had no visitors. What is it THIER business who comes to see us? AT $80 A NIGHT YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO HAVE ADDITIONAL FEES?

Major invasion of privacy.

The river" front"

Is only "visible" from about three sites. Yes, we had one of these.

You had to walk across the street from your site to even see the river.

Using the river is problematic cuz there's only about 30 yd have access that is at closest, 200 yards away. Everybody else is much farther.

This feels up very quickly!

They Park golf carts to ensure you do not go past the very small section.

The water in the San Marcos River is very cold. Not here! There are so many bodies in the water that if you find a spot. You will just be sitting in everyone's pee. It's dirty with beer cans and litter.

They have no steps or concrete to take you to the river. I saw many people slide and fall attempting to get in and out.

If this was a personal residence I would call this river access. But for an RV park that has over 100 sites this is a bottleneck you should avoid.

There are gates everywhere. They tow anyone who was not checked in. Without warning. The sites are not easy to back into if you have anything over 30 ft.

There's a gate code you have to

get out of your vehicle and walk to the keypad then hurry back to your truck to drive in.

The roads and landscaping are not pretty. And for $80 a night that's pretty sad. My husband almost had a tree branch fall on him while he was connecting the rig

The sites are gravel and very uneven. There is concrete pad for the picnic table but most are in disrepair.

No vallet trash.

My son paid $1200 for one month, job finished ahead of schedule and he may have miss understood if he left early 12 days early no vouchers would be given for in used days to monthly guest. OK maybe he did, BUT too KEEP HIS $200 deposit I DONT UNDERSTAND SEEMS CRAZY!

Disappointed Father

My husband was staying here for work. We live in another state. We he went in to do his paperwork he had to give a check out date. He explained he wasn't sure as others were out there for the same reason they knew a few of them were there for work. They put his check out date till the end of the year. I had concerns we would be charged for the entire stay but he assured me the staff told him the most we would lose if he checked out early was his deposit. Great, no big deal! After 6 months they suddenly laid off most of the workers. It was labor day weekend we had just paid for the month of September. Called the office to let them know we were going to have to leave and we left on Labor Day, it was easier because we were visiting for our last trip since school started and I could just follow him home while he pulled the camper. I though for sure we would be prorated or something for the remainder of the month because we were only there for less then a week that month. When I got my credit we were only credited for the remainder of electricity deposit. Called office and they basically said nope not what your contract states. We never got a contract I even went back in my emails to double check. I explained this was an unforeseen circumstance and understood only our deposit would be kept. NO THEY KEPT ALL OF IT. WHOLE MONTHS RENT AND DEPOSIT. Which is said because besides that it would of been a pretty pleasant experience

What a beautiful place to stay! We chose this place as a middle ground between Austin, Hill Country, and San Antonio, but it held its own! They have so many great amenities, and the staff is extremely friendly and responsive. Their access to the San Marcos River is a glorious oasis, too!
