About Campground

Welcome to a world of breathtaking vistas and serene beauty, perched high

on the crest of the canyon. As you arrive, you are greeted with a warm

welcome, and an offer of a refreshing, cold beverage. Then your gaze is drawn to the awe-inspiring 40-mile expanse to the south, where nature's wonders

unfold before your very eyes.

Just a short distance from the main house, your cozy cabin awaits, with a private deck beckoning you to step into a realm of "off the grid" tranquility. Here, the White Tail Deer gracefully roam, while Hummingbirds, Painted Buntings, Cardinals, Scrub Jays, and the occasional Fox serenade you with their presence. The bustling sounds of the city fade away, replaced by the fun of feeding corn to the deer or treats to the cows while watching the chickens play.

Once settled, venture out on the beautiful hill country roads for a brief

journey to explore the wonders of the Texas Wine trail, dotted with

recommended wineries that invite you to savor the fruits of the land.

Alternatively, immerse yourself in the natural beauty of our State Parks,

where stunning landscapes and bat emergences await your discovery. You

are perfectly positioned to relish it all, each experience waiting to captivate

your senses.

As the day draws to a close, return to the joy of pure relaxation, watching

the vibrant sunset paint the sky and witnessing the moon rise in all its

celestial splendor. Rediscover the magic that unfolds when the noise of cars and daily distractions no longer cloud your imagination. Let the serenity of Walnut Canyon Cabins envelop you while experiencing a little slice of Texas heaven where worries fade away.

We welcome all people and ages, who wish to get off the grid, escape the city and retreat to your new favorite getaway. We and nature look forward to your call!

We haven't even left yet and I felt compelled to leave this review. I can't say enough about the cabin, the proprietors, etc. Just a perfect weekend! I mean, where else can you go where the owner invite you (and your furbabies) into their home and offer you a drink before you check in?

The cabin was spotless and filled with everything you need including all the fresh fixings for breakfast!

I wish I'd spent more of my vacation here. I had high expectations after reading other reviews and I stayed at the cabin far exceeded anything I could have expected. It was immaculately clean, fully stocked with all the groceries they list for having a terrific breakfast. Fresh eggs, local smoked meat, coffee, fresh sliced berries and biscuit dough you can bake first thing in the morning to have with jam and honey. The sheets were crisp and clean, the blanket was soft and cozy and the view was unbelievable. I stayed in The Woods cabin and watch huge birds circling over the valley. Deer come in the evening and on your kitchen table in your cabin is a gallon bag of feed corn to toss out to the deer. The bathroom had all the amenities you would expect of any fine hotel including soaps, hair dryer, etc. The towels were thick, thirsty, fluffy and smell good. The only thing I would change is to add on several more days on my next visit. Chickens and roosters are starting around, there are cows and geese and myriad wildlife right there on the grounds. Words cannot describe how beautiful this location is.

Spent a couple days in "Rocky Top" cabin. It was very clean, tidy, fridge was well stocked for breakfasts, etc. The view over the canyon was beautiful. Probably the best part of this experience was due to the Owner/Operators. They are very nice and super helpful. Even entertained the kids with getting eggs from the chickens, feeding some cows treats, and giving them rides on their utility vehicle.

We will definitely be back again!

Oh, and not too far from Fredricksburg, Luckenback, TX, food, etc.!

Worth the trip!!!

The perfect place to relax, unwind, and reset! If you're looking for a cozy cabin, deer right outside, fantastic hosts, and some peace and quiet...it doesn't get any better than this! This cute cabin is well stocked with everything you need for a delicious, make it yourself, breakfast. Complete with local coffee, to get your morning started off right. Far enough away from downtown to really enjoy being unplugged, but close enough to experience the fun things in Fredericksburg. This was the perfect getaway!

This was our fourth time starting here, and like always, it was fabulous. Everything from the awesome views, to the fresh fruits, and even the livestock makes staying here a great way to decompress, reconnect with your loved ones, and enjoy all nature has to offer. Carl and Rhonda do everything they can to ensure your stay is memorable.
