Tent Camping - John was a great campground host. The sites are beautiful, each have good trees for shade / hammocks, a fire ring and a picnic table. There is a water spigot & what seemed to be 1 electrical outlet, but I did not use that. Great bathrooms, clean & spacious. The campground is perfect for a safe place to rest your head if you’re traveling through MO. Very reasonably priced for a primitive camp site with a bathroom close by.
The Katy Roundhouse campground is a beautiful treed area. It is well kept and mowed with beautiful flowers at the extremely clean bathroom area. This campground is right on the Katy Trail. You can grab your bike and go either way. We did put our bikes in the back of the truck and went to Rocheport and rode around there it is a very pretty area and only about 20 minutes away. The campground has lots of trash cans available and the tent area is on one side and the RV side is on the other. Each campsite has a picnic table and a fire ring. There is firewood available to buy. I highly recommend this campground.
Stayed the weekend here, with our Scout Troop for our cycling activity on the Katy Trail. Great location near(ish) the Rocheport Trailhead. Wound up in the middle of a crazy heart wave w/ 10 straight days of temps near or above 100 degrees. We were so grateful for all of the trees providing natural shade. Good spots for tents (relatively flat grassy area). Adequate parking for our vehicles and trailers. Relatively quiet at night with just a couple of dogs barking off in the distance (no traffic sounds, at all). Really appreciated the restrooms/showers. Owner seemed nice to work with. Would return here for a future visit.
