We had a fantastic hike on the Aztec Cave Trail with the dog. It's not a technical route at all, but a couple of steps required me to lift him up onto the next step as it was just too steep for him (45 lb. dog). Wide trail, plenty of parking and easy to get in and out of there. But what a great hike. We even got to see a Colorado tarantula! We will be back to explore the other trails very soon!!
Great view from the top. I didn't climb to the top top. You'll get a decent workout. Shoes are preferred because the rocks on the trail can get big to walk on.
Beautiful state park, great camp sites and trails. We really enjoyed our hike at the Upper Sunset Trail, it's a moderate hike. There are some DRY RV spots available. The bathrooms we saw did not have showers, I'm sure there are some on site, but you'll need to call and check. The roads are Nottoway so if you have a huge RV, I would call ahead.
