From jct Hwy-25 & CR-48/Old-27: Go 1 mi W on CR-48/Old-27 (North Rd). From jct L.I. Expressway (Hwy-495 exit 73) at Riverhead & Hwy-58: Go 4 mi E on Hwy-58, then 2 mi N on 105 to deadend, then 18 mi E on Sound Ave.
It's an ok spot. The restrooms desperately upgraded . They work but I felt like I was at a scout camp. Small sites and we had 5 campers hooked to 1 spigot. Bring extra hoses and power cords. I would stay there again only because of the location.
The new owner, Sean is a very hard-working individual However, with that being said, there really is no more grass. There's plenty of dead grass but no green grass There's no longer anyone policing, especially after midnight. Too many people leaving There dogs off the leash. And there are way too many seasonal people there that think they own the property. We all have to remember being nice to your neighbor goes a lot further than being rude After all, you're just renting as well. I happened to have 2 ticks on me. One was a Lone Star tick which thank God I was able to get off with me. The other one my wife found the next day in my belly button Very discomforting as you can imagine. I've been tested waiting on results. With that being said, they are doing many improvements. And I still believe the best is yet to come. I would definitely come out and give it a try. It is still very kid friendly. They still have a fire truck, That the children definitely love and also the adults.
The site is very nice as well as the staff. They even escort you to your site and help back you in. That was a first for us. We would def recommend staying with them. I am sure if we are back on Long Island we will.
I surprised my boyfriend with a trip to Eastern Long Island kampgrounds for his birthday. We stayed in the safari Tent. Might I say it was everything I expected. The Room was spotless, the staff was attentive and very informative, our neighbors were friendly. We even spent some time in the game room. What an amazing experience. We're already planning our next stay here. 10 out of 10 !
Campground is nice, but outside of a pool, small rundown arcade, and little playground, there is literally nothing else during the week!!! If you're looking for a summer family vacation, look elsewhere imo! Really wish they would add more family fun activities!
