Winter recreation area.
From I-15 take exit 261 heading up Spanish Fork Canyon. Continue up Spanish Fork Canyon for about 9 miles to Forest Service Road 029 (Diamond Fork Canyon). Turn left into Diamond Fork Canyon.
Great place to hike early in the spring when the snow starts to melt.
Beautiful area to go camping and hiking. Lots of picture taking opportunities
There are so many adventures to have in this canyon.
Hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, picnics, natural hot springs, historical markers.... An almost endless list of things to do and see.
There are a lot of cattle in this canyon.
There are a lot if beautiful cabins on private property in the canyon.
There is no camping, except approved camp sites, along the main road for the first 12 miles. There is the Diamond Fork Campground which is OK. Or take one of the dirt roads and find your own camp spot.
!!! BE WARY OF COPS !!!
Speed limit is 35. There is only ONE speed limit sign at the entrance of the canyon. It is very easy to go over 35, and cops WILL pull you over, search your car, and hit you with anything possible. We were driving down after dark and saw THREE cars pulled over and AT LEAST ten squad cars.
DO NOT SPEED and DO NOT have ANY open container or illicit substance in the vehicle.
Very beautiful canyon and hot springs.
A beautiful place to camp for free. There isn't cell reception in the free camping area , so be prepared. Also be sure to head up early in the day to pick a spot, they go quick. We were lucky to find our spot with a great view.
