Once a main railway for lumber in Hancock County, this small 34-acre homestead, acquired in 2010, is home to a variety of farm animals, edible landscaping including multiple varieties of fruit trees, herbs, perennial vegetable beds and small annual vegetable gardens.
Completely wooded at the time of purchase, the farm is still a work in progress. Daily farm life involves upgrading fences, training the vines in the 5-acre muscadine orchard, building animal pens, installing rain catchment systems, composting, harvesting, canning, baking, and our favorite……. feeding the furry and feathered friends.
Pitch your tent in our wooded acreage nestled alongside the Bayou La Terre creek bed. Relax on the sand and watch the squirrels play or close your eyes to meditate with the sounds of nature. A true primitive camping experience awaits you. You can fish in the pond for your own dinner and gather eggs for breakfast.
Try snacking on farm breads and biscuits with homemade jellies. Depending on the season, picking wild blackberries, newly planted (2021) blueberry orchard or some of the farm produce available gives a glimpse into the daily life of living at Creekside Farm.
Our goal is to provide an unplugged experience for you to unwind and get back to nature so you can release the stress of every day and enjoy the nature and serenity of our little farm.
Please do not google us for directions. We are at the end of a private road and the closest road Google picks up is across the creek. We are very simple to find. Put in your map app:
Road 374
You will also receive detailed instructions to drive to us once you have placed your reservation.
Safe travels!
Rustic camp sites situated on their property. The bathroom is a bit of a walk. The is a creek with a sandy bank. We were at a spot were it was easy to access and the kids were able to play in the water. It was ankle deep. (A week ago it was much higher) Using the address listed and google maps, it sent me to the other side of the creek. It took a little work to figure out where the entrance is. There is a gravel road but no signs for the place until you get to the very end of the road.Best to call the owner to get help on how to get there.
Spent a weekend in June of 2020 at one of the camping sites on the property. Had an AMAZING time! The fishing, the animals, the water, the hospitality - ALL FIRST CLASS! Perfectly relaxing atmosphere to just forget about everything and enjoy yourself surrounded by nature! We will def book another trip!
A big thank you to Ms Alicia and her hubby, for taking care of us and checking on us to see if we needed anything, during our stay.
Truly a country, rustic, camp experience! Loved this site. It's a working farm off the main road (GPS stops when the road is no longer paved) and is really a getaway from the noise of daily life. No Wi-Fi, but Verizon data worked with some buffering. Each campsite has a picnic table and firepit. There's an outdoor, community kitchen, two bathrooms and a cold water shower. You can gather eggs from the chickens for breakfast and catch fish in the lake for dinner. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. We will be back!
A piece of peace and just what we needed. Cute cute cute... bunker half in the ground with a nice memory foam mattress. Very private. Very secluded. Can't wait to go exploring at the creek and meet all the critters. We work ridiculous hours all along the coast but are able to sneak back here and escape I priceless. And our cells work! And the hostess and her German shepard were the best welcoming committee ever.
Spend some time and read through all of the reviews. Do it. This place is awesome. If you want to camp out, build a fire, enjoy nature-this is the place. If you want a friendly host (along with chickens, ducks, peacock, dogs, etc) this is the place. We will be back.
