Gateview Campground is located in a deep, narrow canyon at the extreme south end of the Lake Fork Arm of Blue Mesa Reservoir. Take CO Highway 149 7 miles west of Powderhorn, then 6 miles north on the gravel Blue Mesa Cutoff Road. All sites are first-come first-served. Gateview is best suited for tent camping. Due to the narrow gravel road, even small RVs or pop-up trailers are not recommended. Elevation: 7538 feet
From Lake City, travel north on Highway 149 for about 21 miles, turning off to the left onto County Road 25. In just over 2 miles, the road forks; take the fork to the right (straight), which is County Road 64. Continue for approximately 5 miles to the end of the road where you will find the campground.
I like this spot on the river. It's always clean and nice.
Few sights for tent only, and one for possible super small trailer. Has toilet and picnic tables close to Lake Fork river if you want to try some fishing. Nice area.
Beautiful, not a soul there after passing the full redbridge campground. It is worth driving out to and spending a night! The trail has been washed out though so I couldn’t find the way to the actual Gateview section.
