When Sarah and her husband owned this place, it was one of the best places in North Carolina. However, the new owners charge for dumping station. They charge $15 cancellation fee even if you cancel within a week two months prior to arrival. My experience with camping in North Carolina. There are much more affordable places now.
Such a lovely and peaceful place. Walking trail to Carter Falls was amazing! The branch that runs through the campground was so nice to walk along. A fun little playground in a nice shady area under a grove of trees with the branch running by is a wonderful spot for play! Very well kept. We will be back!
Such a neat and clean small campground with plenty of room to maneuver our large motorhome. Very well laid out hookups all in just the right place! I love the small privacy fence around the hook ups so I'm not looking at my neighbors sewer connection when I walk out my door. Other campgrounds could lean from whoever laid this campground out. I hate to comment on 1 negative observation, the firewood I purchased was cedar that is not a problem unless you want to cook on an open fire as we do. We hope to be back again and again since it 3 hours from home.
We just pulled out after an incredible stay. The owners live on site & are available should an emergency arise. They were so nice & accommodating. If you like hiking, wineries, sitting around a quiet campfire, or all the above, this is the place for you. Elkin NC is known for their hiking trails & they are beautiful! They could have crammed more spots in but they didn’t, they thought about it from a camper’s point of view. So spacious with long pull-through sites, nice back-in sites too.
If you’re looking for just an overnight this may not be the ideal stop but then again you don’t get the highway noise. It’s not far off of I-77. I would absolutely return in a heartbeat! They can easily accommodate big rigs.
Thank you for a wonderful stay!
It's a narrow two lane road to get there, however it is very clean and quiet. The hiking trails are beautiful, and the waterfall is gorgeous. One of the trails is 1 ½ miles that leads you to a winery. The shower room was very clean as well. Also there's a dollar general right down the road.
