I love this place. I found Sandy Creek Family Campground in 2020 right after everyone got locked down. I was looking for a way to celebrate my birthday by myself so I could socially distance in a beautiful space and just center myself. Not only was this a perfect get away for me to go as a single woman with my dogs, but I've made it a point to go back once a year every year since. I felt incredibly safe despite being alone and all the campers were polite and friendly. It is a family friendly site with toys for adults and kids, dog friendly, they have a bathroom with a shower (it could use some love but you're also camping so some things are unavoidable in camp bathrooms.) The space is beautiful and peaceful especially with the sound of the creek running through the campground. Barry is a great owner and makes sure to check on you through your stay. They sell firewood bundles and also have electricity. The wifi isn't very strong when you are camping on the site farthest from the modem, but again who cares if you're camping. It would be nice to have stronger wifi just for my Bluetooth music.

Our family had a wonderful time tent camping right beside the creek during spring break! The kids spent hours in the creek, we enjoyed hiking and taking in the winding road beauty as we checked out the charming towns of Sparta and Elkin on different days. Barry was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Enjoyed hearing about his family's history at Stone Mountain. One of our kids asked if we could "just stay here forever!" Hope to return soon!

Awesome place for camping. We like primitive camping and we will 100% return! My family went twice in one weekend. Spacious lots and quiet. Great setup for a beautiful night under the stars at the base of stone mountain

Met the owner-very friendly. Great spots by "sandy creek" for tents and sites w/ power.

Trail to water falls in Stone Mt. Nice

& friendly place. We'll be back for camping.

This was our first time here but it definitely will not be our last. Beautiful land with a really nice creek running through it. The campground literally backs up to Stone mountain State Park. You can walk a trail straight from the campground into the park. Those looking to ride horses could not have a better location, he has stables for boarding and you can ride straight into the trails without having to trailer your horses. It was a fun filled getaway for the whole family. Kids played in the beautiful creek that runs through the camp and played several outdoor games that were available on site. We spent a whole day at the waterfalls in stone mountain. It was a wonderful and relaxing week for the whole family. We absolutely loved it. the owner is fantastic and so very helpful in guiding you to local spots worth seeing.
