We really enjoyed spending a week here. Lake side spot, with 50amp service. Launch the canoe from camp, and enjoy the lake. Lots to explore here and in nearby waters.
Update a year, later same great experience .
Nestled back into the hills of WV is Burnsville Lake. A short distance from the interstate and you will find one of the best lakes around. Well laid out camp grounds, some right on the lake, good fishing, playgrounds, hiking trails, bike paths, staff who patrol the area and the friendliest people around is the reason we go back year after year.
Great camping for the whole family. Our (pet friendly) site was shady and well maintained. We went on the tour and found the old homesteads and their stories quite fascinating! Beautiful place to visit, highly recommend.
Enjoying a campsite with full hook up (no cable) and a water view, smooth lake surface kayaking and solitude, this campsite is a five star experience. Shower houses always clean and stocked on our visit. There is historical value with a primitive museum and buildings you can visit. By solitude, I am referring to being “unplugged”. No local tv signal, take a walk to get two bars on your phone. I purchased the camp Wi fi, but had no consistent internet connection while using it. No streaming. Just enjoy the peaceful views. Enjoyed seeing an eagle fly over and a mink swimming as we kayaked. Posted a pic of the mink.
This campground is beautiful there is abcde loops in which a& b are only for camping which have few sites and lonely areas so dont book that instead cde are for RV, tent and campers which is great with fully packed people and sites are preety close to each other .we booked D-25 site which is close to lake .bathrooms are pretty good clean and well maintain hot water also coming .one can find common picnic areas in cde loops which can also be used as shelter if there is heavy rain .no network available in the campgrounds but when u coming to sutton and heaters town u got your network back . Which is 15 min from campground.
