Sherwood Lake is a nice little park to visit for the day or camp out for a couple days. We love to picnic, swim, fish , etc. there. My family has been visiting this park for decades. Never had a negative experience until 8/3/22. And that was only due to a park employee not being fully aware of the rights a person with a disability and their service animal (dog) has.And that a service dog provides a wide range of assistance for a person who is disabled.
This national forest is absolutely beautiful!!! We were there 5 mins leveling up and a doe walked right up to us, sniffed my husband's hand and walked away. She watched us for 10 mins and returned twice a day! We never fed or approached her but took her pic. Kayaking was perfect. Pine Run campground was perfect. Quiet and nature was abundent! The bathhouse was ok. Trails were nice.
Will definitely be back!!!
