Nice state park very scenic. One of the smaller parks I've been too lately and didn't have a whole lot of trails. Visit the fire tower in the state forest, it is very cool and worth the gravel road drive and walk up the old stairs. Upper camp is more of a horse camp with pit toilets lower camp has nicer bathrooms. Only showers were at the beach area, still open in mid october but dont know if they keep them open all winter. Lots of firewood on site, at least in upper camp.
Small State park campground, quiet, non electric sites, nice trails throughout the park
The group camp area is nice, the bathrooms are modern and clean. The Naturalist is very friendly, informative and hard-working. The swim area is a little rough. I enjoyed the hiking trails.
Clean nice open spaces and it's free. I wouldn't get in the water bc it's lake water and I have eczema but the kids did and love it!
