This is a drive from indy but well worth it if you are a fisher. I was only there for a cple hrs and i caught 2 fish. The people r really nice there as well.
Fantastic campground with a great atmosphere and incredible staff. They were able to accommodate a very late booking when we were completely out of water and needed a place to spend the night, and were incredibly kind and had reasonable rates. We will be using them again for our next trip that direction!
I used to go here all the time, till they changed ownership. I am glad to see the new owners are still doing a horrible way to do business. The last time I was there was about 10 years ago. I used to love it ! Now a waste of money and terrible time from what I read. I was thinking about going.... but I will spend my time and money where it's deserved and welcomed. I think fowler has a nice one from what I hear.
I booked a site 3 weeks before my stay. I told them I would be late and wouldn't arrive till after they close which is 8 pm. They said to simply call the day of to let them know I'd be late. So the day of I called at 7 pm, no answer. I called every 10 minutes until 8 pm and still no answer. We arrived after 9 pm and fortunately found a camper to let us in because the office was empty. The next day I went to the office and asked why they weren't answering the phone and was told they sent her home early because they weren't expecting anyone to arrive late! Because I called at 7 they were going to leave me high and dry without a site! YES, i could have called earlier but when you say to call before 8 but send people home at 7 you're going to really leave someone in a bind. I drove 2 hours and booked 3 weeks in advance! Without that camper at the gate we would have been completely screwed. Because of them you have been saved from a 1 star review. If you're going to send people home an hour early you should tell your campers to call much much earlier if they're going to be late. Ive camped at dozens of campgrounds and I've never been to a place where the advertised office hours don't mean anything. Customers need to know there is a good chance you won't answer the phone after 7 pm since you're sending employees home before your advertised closing time. All of this could have been communicated when I booked the site 3 weeks prior. The worst part is they had my parking tag sitting right there on the desk so they had to assume I was still coming or was coming late and they closed early anyway! I could have been really screwed here! Even if I got there at 7:15 there would have been nobody there to let me in! This is a terrible way to do this.
