We used this campground as our basecamp to go see some races at Indy. It was great. Highly recommend.
This place is amazing or was amazing it has a 2 shower house a laundry mat 2 dollars to wash 1.25 to dry good size washers a pool they used to have a honest person running it but sadly she has passed away. The amazing camp ground went with her. They used to give a Good Sam discount but thats no longer they will let you stay monthly for 600 a month plus electric no water no sewer hook up there is a dump station. Daily rates 50 dollars a night that includes elecrtic. I went to pay rent a day early and I only watch the tv for around 3 hours a day keep light off most of the time i am ocd about it turn everything off all the time and before i leave and l am gone to work 12 hours a day they put me in a spot with a meter hooked up but the person behind me was plugged into the same elecrtical box they told me the power was .10 cents a kilowatt so i figure that tops had to be 40 to 60 dollars because i dont use alot of electric the guy who was down there first said opps someone wrote down the wrong box so i will just charge you the flat rate 90 dollars he said thats what they charge the people with full hookup then i get a call and am told 122 dollar is what i owe for elecrtic and the lady in the office said well that what is was running the full timer that was there before. Not my fault you all arent doing your job correctly. That was summer when you use more power for your air conditioner not in the winter so they were charging me 3 to 4 times the price of what i used and having me pay the lady behind me electric as well, to fill up a propane tank they wanted 40 dollars a piece double them amount of what it cost so if you dont mind being ripped off lied to and paying your neighbors electric bill please go stay here. Update after figuring out kilowatt use and divding it in 2 because the person behind me was hooked into the same box 30 dollars is what i owed i am not sure why they decited it is ok to charge me not only my electric bill but the person behind me as well plus pocket the rest but its not right. Math class if needed 888 x . 10 = 88.00 divide that into 2 = 44.00 not 122
We’ve been here full time since Last July. I honestly cannot think of a better place to stay in the Columbus area. I enjoy the peace and quiet and the family atmosphere. It’s nice to be able to come in and sit down and talk with the other campers and the staff. It’s a fun time to sit around with others, visit and tell a joke or two; even if people do think we’re a bunch of old men with no place to go. It is a wonderful place to come and unwind and feel free to have an opinion where no one sits in judgment.
We are newbies to camping. We scheduled this stop for our way home. The he staff was super friendly! We were concerned that our spot didn’t have full hookups. Our worries were unfounded as they have a great dump station with hose for clean out. Easy peasy!!!! We will make this a regular sleep over location on our northern travels!
They tried to charge me 80 dollars to fill 2 10 lb propane tanks you can get them filled for 40 dollars for both they had the meter for electric hooked up with the person behind me hooked into it as well. When i went to go pay for rent a day early they said opps someone wrote down the wrong meter. I went back and they had 5 different numbers written down on a piece of paper. They were going to charge me the flat rate 90 dollars which is what they charge their full timers called me and said 122 for electric straight up told me that is what it ran the person before me in the summer when you use more electric for your ac. When you have 2 people hooked up to the same meter it should be split and the right number should have been written down not opps the wrong meter was wrote down. I was gone for 12 to 16 hours a day watched tv for tops 3 hours a day my heater is propane not electric so there is no way i used that much electric. It used to be an honest place to go the lady that ran it was truly honest gave a good sam discount was a sweetheart not anymore sadly the honest left when she passed away. If you want rates 50 dollars a night that includes electric 600 a month plus 10 cents a kilowatt make sure that its just your electric your hooked up to. They have a shower house restrooms and a laundry mat 2 dollars to wash 1.25 to dry. Can of soda 1.50 and some people running the office that will lie to you and try to get money from you anyway they can. No reason to try to rip people off or lie to them if you messed up it happens but know that some of us are not that stupid and will not allow you to take advantage of us and pay for other people's electric or propane ect. If you are going to stay long term they can as well get you hooked up with a propane tank for 100 dollar deposit in which they take it right there before you get the propane and they use that 100 dollars towards the propane you use is what i was told. I should have left after they tried to charge me double for propane.
