We tent camped for 3 nights and had a blast! Lots of hiking, biking and swimming. The small beaches along the south campgrounds path and beach were sandy and shallow for a ways out. Even with the things said below, we are already planning to go back.

A few things to be aware of-

-The raccoons mean business. Put your food in a vehicle (never a tent) and ratchet strap coolers. They still checked everything over but weren't able to get food.

-The chipmunks are BOLD. Had one jump into our garbage and run into our screen tent while we were standing 3 ft away. Even chewed through a sealed Rubbermaid bin in the middle of the day while we were swimming.

-There are no showers! I didn't see this clearly stated on the website. Not a deal breaker but good info to have.

Great campground in WI!

Just what I needed this 2023 summer!

Saw a bunch of deer but didn’t catch them on camera! Super cool park! Lots to do! Hiking paths-swimming at the beach- the playground and so on! Hope to be back again!

Great County park, with two camping areas, and sandy beach for swimming. Wonderful trails and clean facilities make this park a perfect vacation or day trip destination if you're close enough. In my opinion, Marathon County parks are on par with the state parks.

Photos from September 2023, water levels were very low.

Haven't been here since before I moved to Florida. Not sure why it took me 8 years to get here since moving back.

This is a big, gorgeous park. There is a lot of beach here, plenty of places to fish from and put boats in, many shelters, grills, restrooms, camping areas, and a playground.

Even though we came late in the year (the Mead side of the lake seemed to have lost the majority of its leaves already), the views were still outstanding.

Didn't see any deer, but there were plenty of birds and small critters running around.

This park is well worth visiting.

There is currently a pretty bad blue-green algae bloom. If you bring a dog, make sure to keep them away from the water.

There are a few Pokestops spread throughout the park. We did not see any gyms. We had very weak signals here, though.
