Campsite: Big Eau Pleine Park Campground

Haven't been here since before I moved to Florida. Not sure why it took me 8 years to get here since moving back.

This is a big, gorgeous park. There is a lot of beach here, plenty of places to fish from and put boats in, many shelters, grills, restrooms, camping areas, and a playground.

Even though we came late in the year (the Mead side of the lake seemed to have lost the majority of its leaves already), the views were still outstanding.

Didn't see any deer, but there were plenty of birds and small critters running around.

This park is well worth visiting.

There is currently a pretty bad blue-green algae bloom. If you bring a dog, make sure to keep them away from the water.

There are a few Pokestops spread throughout the park. We did not see any gyms. We had very weak signals here, though.

Campsite: Camp New Wood County Park

This is a very nice park with non-electric shelters, restrooms, grills, a playground, great water views, and more gophers than I've ever seen anywhere else, lol. There is plenty of parking here, and a place to put in boats (and/or pick up people tubing down the river from Grandfather Falls).

Very peaceful with lots of birdsongs and critters scurrying around. The bugs were not bad at all here. We did see an active hornet nest in the shelter closer to the water, but they paid us no attention.

Well worth visiting, this is a great place for many types of events!

There was a massive amount of firework debris, so we spent the first hour cleaning it up before heading onto the Ice Age Trail segment that connects here.

I have no idea if there are any Pokestops or gyms, as we had no signal whatsoever, but I'd have to imagine there are some here. This would be an ideal place to play (just mind the gopher holes, lol).

Campsite: North Wood County Park

This place is huge and gorgeous! Lots of things to do here: disc golf, fishing, swimming, kayaking, hiking. Many great picture opportunities. There are restrooms and shelters, picnic tables and grills. Lots of camping space. A playground area. The suspension bridge is fun just walking across. Lots of wildlife and flowers. Beautiful views! Well worth checking out!

For the Go players, there's at least one Pokestop and one gym. We had a very weak connection there, so not sure if there were more due to loading issues.
