Cliffwood campground has 35 sites, 29 with electricity. One of the sites is accessible for people with disabilities, site 132. Cliffwood Campground is open from May 1 to Oct. 31.
Sites 106-121, 127-128, 130-131 and 135-136 are double sites. This means that two sites share a driveway but each has its own individual site. These sites are ideal for camping parties that would prefer to camp next to one another in a larger, shared space. The two campsites are reserved together, and a reservation fee is charged for each site.
There are showers and both flush and pit toilets in season. Late fall through early spring, water and shower/flush toilet buildings are weather-dependent.
The Echo Rock Trail makes its way through the campground with 0.4 miles of an accessible paved path that leads to a beautiful overlook and the Ishnala bridge which spans the Mirror Lake gorge.
Very beautiful park. We went on a Saturday afternoon, very little traffic. The 2 paths we went on were also stroller friendly, our little guy loved seeing all the different sites. Can’t wait for the next visit.
Very quiet park at this time of the year. Campsites are very spacious and provide privacy with lots of trees and ground cover. Restrooms were clean and functional and are conveniently located with water points also spread throughout the campsites.
Fine state park, beautiful views of serene Mirror Lake which is quite nestled into the dells of the area. The park has tons of hiking trails all over, nothing too hard, and typically MUCH less busy than Devil's Lake SP not far from here.
While our party had children and thus nature viewing is not always possible due to our ambient noise level, there are always tons of signs of animals here, from Pileated woodpecker gouges to beaver chew marks on the trees above the lake. There is plenty of nature in the area to be seen, there is even some history. The Pulpit Rock trail includes some history about the neighborhoods that were once planned/built here for socialite families of the region. Somewhat interesting, nothing that will blow you away.
The facilities at the park front office are the best in the park, with the rest being the typical pit toilets.
We are so lucky to live near by to a wonderfully maintained state park. Parking is adequate (obviously can have its busy times) and I love how the area so many trails hitting all the different abilities including the pups! My son has recently taken to loving the hikes here too! Highly recommend this park for anyone, with any ability!
