It's quite a nice place to camp out at if you're into lake activities and biking. But for me specifically I go camping with my dogs and this place does not accommodate pets even though it's pet friendly. You're basically secluded to your camp site or walking around other camp sites. So if you're looking for a place to bring your bestfriend and hike the trails, this place is a no go.
A gem in the off season. We've never been there when the campground was open but imagine it's very bustling with campers and day visitors. Beautiful place for a walk up Dundee Mountain in the fall/winter/early spring. Hunting not allowed in Long Lake and the deer seem to know it as we see 4 to 12 deer even when just a quick drive through. Great lake access/boat launch in winter.
The swim area is shallow but perfect with kids. I enjoyed taking my paddle board out in the evenings and exploring over the seaweed on the outer edges of the swim area. Definitely worth a visit.
Such a beautiful place to be! Loved camping last year for the first time. Returned this year for a daytime birthday party. The only downside-they ran out of soap in one of the bathrooms on the beach, but rangers drive around often and are very helpful and cordial. Consider allowing dogs near the water areas and placing bag and garbage stations often.
Nice state forest campground in the heart of the Kettle Moraine. Two nice beaches and a fishing pier along with a nice boat access. Great for a family outing. Boating, skiing, fishing. Very quiet mid-week. Most sites can be reserved. Electric sites available. Level sites with picnic tables and fire grate. Flush toilets. Less than an hour from many parts of east-central Wisconsin. Would give five stars except state maintenance is not what it used to be. However, still a great place to go.
