This place is a solid 4.5. Only bad thing about our experience was security. They had different rules other than which were posted on the web and on the back of the map. On to the good. The location is great. Right on the sugar river. The river is shallow for the most part. Tubing was fun. The float was just over an hour. They have a few animals to pet. The donkey sneezed a lot. If you didn't feed the pony he would keep pawing the fence until he got something. The beach was fun. It's a man made pond. The water is cool and refreshing. We stayed in a cabin. It was a little dated but not much time was spent inside anyway. No oven. Had a stove, microwave, toaster, full size fridge. We had a shower with a bathtub, our friends only had showers with no tub. Oh there was a swimming pool, pickleball court, basketball net, a couple parks. I'll pretty cool. The jumping pillow had a hole in it so it was not inflated when we were there, which was a bummer.
If you get a cabin they will not give you a key until 3pm. If you get there early it costs $10 "to use the amenities"
With all that being said, I think I'd go back.
Had a great time! We usually go to a campground and pay a separate company to shuttle us to canoe, kayak or tube - it’s included here! (Only tubes though when we went, which is fine). Once I got my bearings of where everything was we were very happy with the amount of bathrooms, showers, the pool. There’s also a beach lagoon (no dogs on beach, which is fine) and if you don’t want to tent camp or don’t have a camper trailer you can rent cabins. It was the perfect blend of getting your nature in but also having amenities available if needed. The general store has a snack bar and plenty of options for things left at home. The only reason they get 4 stars is because the bounce pad was broken which was upsetting for the kids on our trip, but I’m sure it gets a lot of use. And the dodgeball game had no ball. The tubing is only an hour and you can go as much as you want! They shuttle you up the river and you literally get off at the campsite. Easy! It felt like we had a much longer vacation than we actually did. Thanks for the much needed R&R - we’ll be back!
It is so nice to have water and plumbing for our rig. We don't get that often and we live in the area. Wifi works great if you need it .
Great for kids. Highly recommend.
Our family's first time camping at this location with some friends, we stayed in a rustic cabin. We had a great time! Friendly, personable staff. Plenty of things to do. Had fun tubing. Very clean campground. We all had a great time and can't wait to go back.
Crazyhorse is a good campground. We went after Labor Day so none of the events were going on. The pool and swim pond were still open and things were very quiet, that's all we really needed. Staff was great as usual. We've been there previous years during peak camping times and had a great time.
